Application Process

Richarte High School Application/Intake

Thank you for your interest in Richarte High School, Georgetown ISD's Academic Alternative School of Choice.  Students apply to Richarte High School for a variety of reasons, including acceleration toward graduation and to accomplish their specific goals.

Students must be in grades 10-12 to obtain an application and be able to provide one form of ID to verify proof of age and one form of ID to verify GISD residency when submitting the completed application.  Students should be at least 16 years old when applying, and preference is given to Juniors and Seniors (3rd and 4th year high school students needing to graduate) as well as students who may have dropped out and wish to return and earn their diploma.  All students are considered. Please be aware that we do review all students' prior attendance and discipline.

Note:  Completion of Application Does Not Guarantee Enrollment.

If you are interested in Richarte High School, please talk to your school counselor or Assistant Principal. There is also a link on our home page to the Google form where you can fill out the application online.  Please make sure that you answer all questions on the application and provide signatures where needed.  The essay should be written legibly with correct spelling and grammar.  Students:  Please fill out the application with a parent so that they are aware of the requirements as well.

Once all documentation has been received and reviewed, an interview will be scheduled by the RHS secretary for an academic planning meeting with the principal (parent must attend) and an individual student meeting with the counselor.

Be prepared to ask any questions you have about the school, curriculum, and scheduling options during your interview.

It is important to be on time for each appointment and bring any required paperwork.  If you are late to your appointment, you may be asked to reschedule.

If you have any further questions, please contact us at (512) 943-5120.

If you are accepted we will discuss the steps you will need to take in order to enroll. If you are not accepted after the interview, we will contact you directly to let you know.
